Gliding around our woods and out with the goats on Black Diamond GlideLite Trekker Skis. These skis are not available new anymore (I got this pair used on Marketplace). Close equivalents that are available are Altai Hok Skis or Whitewoods Outlanders.
You can wear any regular hiking boot with these type of skis. I wear a pair of motorcycle boots because the stiff ankle support provides better control. I've heard some people wear them with snowboard boots, which I tried, but found there wasn't enough flex in the toe.
